2013 Vincent J. Cristofalo, PhD
This endowed Lectureship is an annual tribute to Dr. Vincent Cristofalo, an expert in cellular aging, a cherished mentor, and the founder of the Institute on Aging at Penn (formerly the Center for the Study of Aging).
The seventh Vincent J. Cristofalo, PhD, Annual Lectureship will take place at 3:30pm on Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at the University of Pennsylvania. The lecture and reception will be held in BRB 2/3 Auditorium, 421 Curie Boulevard, University of Pennsylvania.
Dr. Shin-ichiro Imai will serve as the 2013 Cristofalo Lecturer and will present discussion on his research in "Towards Productive Aging: The Systemic Regulatory Network for Mammalian Aging and Longevity."

About the 2013 Cristofalo Lecturer
Shin-ichiro Imai, MD, PhD, is
Developmental Biology and of Medicine at Washington University School of Medicine at St. Louis.
Dr. Imai and his lab are studying the fundamental mechanisms of aging and longevity in mammals, focusing on the physiological importance of the mammalian nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD)-dependent protein deacetylase SIRT1 and systemic NAD biosynthesis mediated by nicotinamide phosphoribosyltransferase (NAMPT) for the regulation of metabolism and aging.
