Cohen Annual Retreat with Poster Session on Aging was held on May 8, 2007, from 1:00 to 5:00pm in Houston Hall, 3417 Spruce Street, at the University of Pennsylvania. 2007 SpeakersRosemary A. Stevens, PhD, MPH, DeWitt Wallace Distinguished Scholar in the Social Medicine and Public Policy Program in the Department of Psychiatry at the Weill Medical College of Cornell University, was the 2007 Sylvan M. Cohen Visiting Scholar. Dr. Stevens, an author, healthcare historian, policy analyst, and epidemiologist, spoke on "The First Quarter." |

The IOA was also honored to have, as Penn Presenters for 2007, David Casarett, MD, Assistant Professor of Medicine, Staff Physician and Medical Director of the Palliative Care Service at the Philadelphia VA Medical Center, and Neville Strumpf, PhD, RN, Edith Clemmer Steinbright Professor in Gerontology and Director of the Center for Gerontologic Nursing Science at the Penn School of Nursing. Drs. Strumpf and Casarett, along with Dr. Stacen Keating from the Penn School of Nursing, discussed end-of-life and palliative care in “Nursing and Medicine: Collaboration in end-of-life research.” |
