When your child or significant other embarks upon his or her journey into medical school, he or she will face a very different lifestyle compared with undergraduate school. The Penn Medicine Parents and Partners program keeps students’ families involved in the lives of their loved ones throughout their medical school careers.
From day one, parents and partners are invited to the School
of Medicine to witness a day in the life of their medical student.
While their students attend orientation, the Office of Alumni Development
and Alumni Relations orients students’ loved ones with other
parents and partners of medical students, the Penn campus,
the medical school curriculum, and the various programs offered
by the School. This day coincides with the White Coat Ceremony
where students recite the Hippocratic oath and are symbolically
sworn into the medical profession.
As your medical student progresses through his or her years at Penn, the Office of Alumni Development and Alumni Relations will keep you informed of the activities at the School of Medicine with the Parents Newsletter, through this Web site, and with invitations to Penn programs, receptions and dinners both in Philadelphia and in cities elsewhere in the U.S. |
