Description of Research Expertise
Dr. McKay's primary research interest is in developing and evaluating new clinical approaches to improve the long-term management of substance use disorders and related problems. He has conducted work on remote models of continuing care delivery, including the telephone, smartphone, and SMS.Dr. McKay has expertise in adaptive approaches to treatment, and wrote the first book on this topic. This work includes Sequential Multiple Assignment Randomized Trials, or SMART, studies.
