Description of Research Expertise

1) IRB-approved study began February 2016: "Parental Photograph Quality Rating Scale Study (PQRS Study)" to assess the quality of photographs taken by parents of their child's skin conditions and the accuracy of the diagnosis provided by a blinded pediatric dermatologist as compared to an in-person pediatric dermatologist. Will also test whether an instruction sheet provided to half of the participants will improve the quality of the image and diagnoses rendered.

Funded by the CHOP Office of Entrepeneurship and Innovation

2) Developing IRB protocol for study to assess the usability and outcomes of the teledermatology app being developed. Working with Alex Fiks,MD and Linda Fleisher, PhD as part of their iApp Chair's Initiative. Will develop a survey for the users of the app (patients/parents and doctors)

Description of Clinical Expertise

Teledermatology: Began development on pediatric teledermatology app with the CHOP Office of Entrepeneurship and Innovation as part of the SPRINT Program. Will pilot the app in the CHOP outpatient setting in Spring 2016 with goal of launching more widely in future.

2) Developed order set for inpatient pediatric dermatology regarding general ordering of cultures and biopsies
