Description of Research Expertise

My research is directed at improving the acute management of complications of sickle cell disease with a particular emphasis on the management of vaso-occlusive pain crisis. My areas of expertise include genomic analysis of analgesic response to morphine, randomized controlled trials and conducting analyses of national databases.

Description of Clinical Expertise

I have clinical expertise in the care of acutely injured and medically complex patients in the emergency department.

Description of Other Expertise

I have expertise in establishing and evaluating the effects of standardized clinical pathways on the quality of care of patients with sickle cell disease.
