Description of Research Expertise

Dr. Khanna's research interests are in the development, evaluation, and dissemination of cognitive-behavioral treatments for childhood OCD, anxiety, Tic Disorders, and Trichotillomania. Her scholarly publications include scientific articles and book chapters on the treatment of generalized anxiety disorder, social phobia, separation anxiety, and OCD in youth.

She is coauthor of "The C.A.T. Project," a cognitive-behavioral treatment for anxious teens, "Camp Cope-A-Lot: The Coping Cat CD Rom," the first computer-assisted cognitive-behavioral treatment for anxious children, and "CBT4CBT: Computer-Based Training to become a Cognitive Behavioral Therapist for anxious youth," the first computer-based clinician training program in cognitive behavioral therapy for anxiety in youth.

Treatment outcome research in pediatric OCD & anxiety

Web-based interventions for pediatric anxiety, OCD, Tics & Trichotillomania

Parent involvement in the cognitive-behavioral treatment of anxiety in youth

Computer technology in the dissemination of empirically-supported treatments for disorders in children & adolescents

Description of Clinical Expertise

Dr. Khanna has dedicated her training, research, and clinical work to youth affected by OCD, anxiety and mood disorders and has provided individual, group, and family therapy services, consultation and evaluation services for the past several years for adults, teens, children, and families.

Dr. Khanna has provided clinical services in a number of treatment facilities including the Child and Adolescent Anxiety Disorders Clinic of Temple University, the Center for Management of ADHD in the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, and at the OCD, Anxiety, and Tic Disorders Clinic and Child and Adolescent Inpatient Units of the University of California, Los Angeles, Neuropsychiatric Institute.

She has been involved with the development of a number of treatment programs, including "The C.A.T. Project," and "Camp Cope-A-Lot: The Coping Cat CD Rom," for the treatment of anxious youth.
