Description of Research Expertise

Researh Interests: Early phase clinical trial design and translational research for subjects with hematologic malignancies and subjects undergoing allogeneic stem cell transplantation.

Active Research Projects:
The establishment of a peripheral blood tissue bank and clinical database for subjects undergoing allogeneic stem cell transplantation. Several active projects assessing T cell function as it relates to disease relapse and GVHD are ongoing.

A Phase I/II clinical trial using single agent eltrombopag for patients with acute myelogenous leukemia.

A Phase I/II clinical trial using single agent TL32711 (a smac mimetic) for patients with acute myelogenous leukemia.

A retrospective multicenter descriptional study sponsored by the International Bone Marrow Transplant Registry and National Marrow Donor Program to evaluate donor derived malignancies after stem cell transplantation.

A retrospective multicenter cohort study sponsored by the International Bone Marrow Transplant Registry to evaluate outcomes of recipients of a fresh versus a frozen allograft.

A retrospective multicenter study sponsored by the International Bone Marrow Transplant Registry to evaluate outcomes for patients who relapse after allogeneic stem cell transplantation who receive either DLI or second SCT

Description of Clinical Expertise

Leukemia, myelodysplastic syndrome, lymphoma, multiple myleoma and allogeneic stem cell transplantation.
