As a visiting scholar at the Center, Frances Kissling is doing research for a series of essays on current controversies in abortion. She is a weekly columnist covering religion, reproduction and politics for Salon.com. She also blogs for religiondispatches.org Kissling, who was dubbed the “philosopher of the prochoice movement by syndicated columnist Ellen Goodman was president of Catholics for Choice until her retirement in 2007. She serves on the advisory boards of the Journal of Feminist Ethics and the Women’s Bioethics Project. She is also a consultant to the Western Hemisphere Region of the International Planned Parenthood Federation where she develops and conducts values clarification workshops for doctors and nurses working on reproductive health in Latin America.
