Description of CVI Expertise

CVI Program Unit(s):
Lipid / Atherosclerosis / CAD / ACS / Prevention

CVI Research Description:
Dr. Rosas's research focuses on examining the role of novel risk factors [for example, inflammatory markers, homocysteine, Lipoprotein(a)] in the development and progression of cardiovascular disease in patients with chronic kidney disease. Dr. Rosas is the principal investigator on several on going studies evaluating the use of non-invasive cardiovascular procedures such as electron beam computed tomography and carotid intima-media thickness in CKD patients (including dialysis and transplant recipients).
