The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and the Division of Emergency Medicine in the Department of Pediatrics at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seek candidates for an Associate Professor position in the non-tenure research track. Applicants must have a Ph.D. or equivalent degree and have demonstrated excellent qualifications in research. PhD or equivalent in psychology from an accredited university.
The successful applicants will have a background in the psychological impact of pediatric injury and trauma, and methodological expertise in measure development and clinical behavioral research. This position will support the research mission in the area of pediatric injury prevention and treatment. The incumbent would lead a major research program area in the Center for Injury Research and Prevention, the nationally and internationally recognized center of excellence dedicated to advancing the safeity of children through research. The successful candidate would be expected to conduct his or her research in conjunction with a multidisciplinary research team, which includes members in the disciplines of medicine, nursing, surgery, psychology, engineering, public health, communications and health education, with investigators working together on the inception, design, execution and dissemination of injury control research. The incumbent would be expected to bring an existing independent program of research, support existing research collaborations, and continue to build his or her independent research program developing methodology and/or interventions to reduce the prevalence and consequences of pediatric injury.
The successful candidate will have at least ten years post-gradudate experience in leading and conducting clinical research in the area of pediatric injury prevention and injury sequellae, and a record of independent researvh funding and scholarly publications in this area.
