The Department of Anesthesiology and Critical Care at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for several Associate or Assistant Professor positions in either the tenure track or the non-tenure clinician-educator track. Track and rank will be commensurate with experience. The successful applicant will have experience in the field of Anesthesiology. Responsibilities include research and clinical care in the operating rooms of the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. Teaching of residents and fellows required. Applicants must have an M.D or M.D./Ph.D. degree and have demonstrated excellent qualifications in clinical care, education, and research. ABA certification and Pennsylvania licensure required.

The successful candidate will have an established research program or academic plan in the neurosciences dealing with, among others; anesthetic pharmacology, computational biology, neurotoxicity, neuroprotection, pain and sensory neurotransmission, neuroplasticity. They will integrate into the Center for Anesthesia Research, which was established by the Department of Anesthesiology in 1967 to encourage collaborative and interdisciplinary research, and research training on problems relevant to the practice of anesthesiology and critical care medicine. High quality collaborative potential exists in the extensive Penn neurosciences community.
