ACADEMIC PHYSIATRIST - Consultative Physician

The Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for several Assistant Professor positions in the non-tenure academic-clinician track. The successful applicant will have experience in the field of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation with a focus on developing a consultative service. Responsibilities include leading the development of the consultative services at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. Working closely with our Attendings at the Pennsylvania Institute for Rehabilitation Medicine, care pathways will be developed and instituted to optimize a seamless continuum of care for patients with a variety of disabling conditions. Applicants must have an M.D. or equivalent degree and have demonstrated excellent qualifications in education and clinical care. Candidate must be Board Certified/Board Eligible.

This individual will work closely with referring physicians, our team of nurse liaisons and our current consultative service providers to best coordinate patient centered post-acute care.

Candidate will have excellent clinical training, well-refined interpersonal skills, enthusiasm, and a commitment to furthering our clinical consultative services and advancing our academic missions. Fellowship training or special expertise in an area of PM&R – stroke rehabilitation, brain injury, or spinal cord injury is desirable, but not required. The outstanding physiatrist will have a strong desire to further our clinical care, science, and education. Building a post-acute system for the University of Pennsylvania is a major focus of the department and the institution.
