The Department of Radiation Oncology at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Assistant Professor position in either the non-tenure academic-clinician track or the non-tenure clinician-educator track. Track will be commensurate with experience. The successful applicant will have experience in the field of Radiation Oncology. Applicants must have an M.D. or equivalent degree and have demonstrated excellent qualifications in clinical care, research, and education. While evidence of scholarship is required in the clinician-educator track, research is not required in the academic clinician track. Candidates must be certified or eligible for certification in radiation therapy.

Applicants must be open to specific disease sites. Expertise in stereotactic body radiosurgery is preferred.

This position will support the general clinic population of the Philadelphia VA Medical Center. In addition, this individual will be expected to provide physician coverage at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania as well as any one of the satellite facilities across the Philadelphia metropolitan area. This position will contribute to teaching of residents on rotation, attendance at QA meetings, and participation in Chart Rounds.

The Philadelphia VA Medical Center provides health care to veterans living in America’s fifth-largest metropolitan area, including the city of Philadelphia and six surrounding counties in Southeastern Pennsylvania and Sothern New Jersey. The facility is staffed by more than 2,000 employees and supports 145 acute care beds and a 135-bed nursing home known as the Philadelphia Veterans Community Living Center. The Philadelphia VAMC is part of the VA Healthcare Network - VISN4 and serves as an acute referral center for VA health care facilities in eastern Pennsylvania, Delaware and Southern New Jersey.
