The Department of Neurology at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Assistant Professor position in the non-tenure research track. Responsibilities include the successful applicant will be involved in developing studies of patients with neurodegenerative conditions, focusing particularly on disorders of social cognition and personality in patients with frontotemporal lobar degeneration, Alzheimer’s disease and related disorders. In addition he/she will be responsible for statistical analyses of the data and writing scientific papers; and will relate these cognitive findings to structural MRI studies of cortical atrophy and white matter degeneration. He/she will be expected to help supervise laboratory technicians involved in testing patients with neurodegenerative conditions in an academic setting. Applicants must have a Ph.D. degree and have demonstrated excellent qualifications in research and education.
Applicants must have completed a fellowship involving experience with disorders of social cognition in patients with frontotemporal degeneration.
