Rheumatology, Clinical Director
Posting Department: Medicine
Expire Date: 03/27/2014
The Division of Rheumatology in the Department of Medicine at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for a Full or Associate Professor position in either the non-tenure academic-clinician track or the non-tenure clinician-educator track. Track and rank will be commensurate with experience. Applicants must have an M.D or M.D./Ph.D. degree and have demonstrated excellent qualifications in education and clinical care. While evidence of scholarship is required in the clinician-educator track, research is not required in the academic clinician track. Candidates must be ABIM Eligible/Certified in Rheumatology.

The successful candidate will be part of one of the nation's most prestigious institutions offering an opportunity for multidisciplinary patient care, teaching responsibilities, and clinical research opportunities in an academic setting. The Division of Rheumatology includes extensive clinical expertise in the full range of rheumatic diseases, including linked clinical and research programs in myositis, systemic lupus erythematosus, psoriatic arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, scleroderma, Sjögren’s syndrome, and vasculitis with plans to partner with the Department of Orthopaedics to expand clinical services within a multidisciplinary Musculoskeletal Center. The Division provides care for patients at multiple practice sites.

The Clinical Director will work with departmental and health system administration to oversee the clinical operations of the Division of Rheumatology with the goals of providing outstanding patient care, increasing the efficiency and quality of operations, promoting growth of the practice, expanding the clinical services, and integrating the clinical practice with the research and teaching missions of the Division and Medical School.

We seek candidates who embrace and reflect diversity in the broadest sense.

The University of Pennsylvania is an equal opportunity, affirmative action employer.
