The Department of Medicine at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for a Full or Associate Professor position in the non-tenure academic-clinician track. Rank will be commensurate with experience. Applicants must have an M.D. degree and have demonstrated excellent qualifications in clinical care and education. Board Certified in Hospice and Palliative Medicine is required.
We are seeking a clinician leader and educator to co-lead an interdisciplinary Palliative Care Program committed to achieving a vision for a strong palliative care presence. Currently the program consist of an inpatient consultation team, pain and palliative care clinic, and partnership with home care and hospice services.
Our Penn Medicine health system includes the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, Pennsylvania Hospital within Philadelphia and outpatient centers throughout the region. Penn Medicine is dedicated to high-quality patient care and service, advancing medical science through research, and education the next generation of leaders in medicine.
Responsibilities include:
• Clinical leadership for consultation service and clinic
• Coordination of palliative care initiatives to support hospital-wide integration
• Development of education curriculum for all level providers including palliative care fellows
• Oversight of outcomes measurement and quality improvement process
• Collaboration in palliative care research initiatives.
