The Division of Translational Medicine and Human Genetics in the Department of Medicine at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Associate or Assistant Professor position in either the non-tenure clinician-educator track or the non-tenure academic-clinician track. Track and rank will be commensurate with experience. Applicants must have an M.D or M.D./Ph.D. degree. While evidence of scholarship is required in the clinician-educator track, research is not required in the academic clinician track. The individual has to be Board-Certified/Eligible in Clinical or Biochemical Genetics or Internal Medicine, with both Genetics and IM preferred.
We are seeking to recruit a medical geneticist with expertise in disorders of adolescence and adulthood. Areas of clinical focus could include, but are not limited to: Mendelian disorders (in particular transitioning children with heritable disorders of connective tissue, lysosomal storage disorders and other inborn errors of metabolism; classic dysmorphological syndromes; common conditions of adulthood (especially cardiovascular conditions, such as hypertension, atherosclerosis, and dysrhythmias); cancer susceptibility syndromes; genetic pulmonary diseases; neurogenetics; and hemochromatosis. The successful applicant will be both an expert clinician and an engaging educator for medical students, residents and fellows.
