The Division of Center for Mental Health Policy and Services Research in the Department of Psychiatry at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Instructor position in the Academic Support Staff. This appointment will be initially for one (1) year and continuation during that time period and renewal are based on satisfactory performance and availability of funding (limited to three (3) years). The successful applicant will have experience in the field of Geriatric Psychiatry with a focus on use of large administrative datasets to understand the experience of late-life adults in mental healthcare. Responsibilities include inpatient attending, establishment of diagnoses, and provision of direct ongoing care and services to psychiatric patients. Applicants will be reponsible for teaching and supervision of residents, medical students and other trainees. Research responsibilities include using a population-based approach, combined with large administrative datasets, to explore organizational approaches to improving mental healthcare for adults in later life. Research responsibilities also include writing research grants, writing empirical papers and reviews, conducting statistical analyses and project management. Applicants must have an M.D. or equivalent degree and have demonstrated excellent qualifications in research and clinical care.
