The Division of Infectious Diseases in the Department of Medicine at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Associate or Assistant Professor position in the non-tenure academic-clinician track. Rank will be commensurate with experience. Applicants must have an M.D. degree. Board Certified and Board Eligible in Infectious Diseases is required.
The candidate will serve as Associate Director of Healthcare Epidemiology programs including efforts to prevent healthcare-associated infections and preparedness programs for influenza, other vaccine preventable illnesses and bioterrorism attacks. The candidate will also participate in our Antimicrobial Stewardship program. We anticipate that 50%-70% time will be devoted to hospital infection prevention activities and 20%-50% to clinical care and teaching.
The candidate will report to Dr. David Pegues at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. Healthcare Epidemiology is noted for its leadership in the areas of antimicrobial resistance and stewardship.
