The Department of Radiation Oncology at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Assistant or Associate Professor position in the non-tenure academic-clinician track. Rank will be commensurate with experience. Applicants must have an M.D. or equivalent degree and have demonstrated excellent qualifications in education and clinical care. Radiation Oncology.
The successful applicant will have at least 5 years experience in the field of Radiation Oncology. Applicants must have an M.D. or equivalent degree and have demonstrated excellent qualifications in education, clinical care, and practice building. Research is not required in the academic-clinician track. Candidates must be board certified in radiation therapy.
Applicants must be open to specific disease sites. Expertise in stereotactic body radiosurgery is preferred.
This position will support the general clinic population of the new outpatient Valley Forge Medical Center located in Valley Forge, PA. In addition, this individual will be expected to provide physician coverage at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania as well as any one of the satellite facilities across the Philadelphia metropolitan area. This position will contribute to teaching of residents on rotation, attendance at QA meetings, and participation in Chart Rounds.
The Valley Forge Medical Center is the Department’s newest outpatient community site. The facility will be staffed with radiation therapists, physics, and nursing support. It will include a Varian TrueBeam Linear Accelerator, Eclipse Treatment Planning System and a CT simulator. The facility will be integrated with medical oncology and radiology services on site. It will also be integrated electronically with the Hospital of the University Department of Radiation Oncology.
