The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for several Full, Associate, and/or Assistant Professor positions in either the non-tenure academic-clinician track or the non-tenure clinician-educator track. Track and rank will be commensurate with experience. The successful applicant will have experience in the field of Surgical Pathology. Applicants must have an M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. or equivalent degree and have demonstrated excellent qualifications in clinical care, education, and research. While evidence of scholarship is required in the clinician-educator track, research is not required in the academic clinician track. An unrestricted PA medical license/eligibility and ABM/ASCP board certification in AP and/or CP is required. Candidates with fellowship experience in general surgical pathology and/or a surgical pathology subspecialty, GI, and Breast will be most favorably considered.
Clinician-Educator (CE) track faculty are expected to participate in translational research, and candidates must demonstrate a strong record/potential in clinical, translational or collaborative research. Academic Clinicians (AC) must demonstrate excellence in teaching and clinical abilities; research is not required in this track. Both tracks engage in a broad spectrum of departmental teaching activities including medical students, pathology house-staff and fellows, clinical fellows and at interdepartmental conferences.
