The Department of Anesthesiology and Critical Care at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Instructor position in the Academic Support Staff. This appointment will be initially for one (1) year and continuation during that time period and renewal are based on satisfactory performance and availability of funding (limited to three (3) years). The successful applicant will have experience in the field of clinical epidemiology/health services research with experience and publications in the area of perioperative care and/or pain management. Responsibilities include assisting clinical faculty in the development of research proposals, manuscripts and grants including being a co-investigator. The applicant is expected to develop their own grant applications. Teaching of residents and fellows in clinical epidemiology/statistics is also required. Applicants must have a Ph.D. degree and have demonstrated excellent qualifications in research and education.
The successful candidate will integrate into the Center for Anesthesia Research, which was established by the Department of Anesthesiology in 1967 to encourage collaborative and interdisciplinary research, and research training on problems relevant to the practice of anesthesiology and critical care medicine. High quality collaborative potential exists in the extensive Penn epidemiology community.
