The Division of General Internal Medicine in the Department of Medicine at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Assistant Professor position in either the tenure track or the non-tenure clinician-educator track. Track will be commensurate with experience. Applicants must have an M.D. degree and have demonstrated excellent qualifications in clinical care, education, and research. They must also be board-certified/board-eligible in internal medicine, have completed extensive, formal training in research methods, and have demonstrated exceptional promise for a career as a leading, independent investigator. Academic career plan will appropriate with track.

The successful candidate will be responsible for building a research program in areas of high relevance for general internal medicine, including but not limited to health policy research; comparative effectiveness research; health economics, behavioral economics, health psychology, clinical, genetic or social epidemiology, medical sociology, and disease prevention or early detection. He or she will also provide direct patient care in either the inpatient or outpatient setting, and he/she will have opportunities for participating in the Perelman School of Medicine's outstanding educational programs at the UME, GME or post-graduate level.
