The Division of Cardiovascular Medicine in the Department of Medicine at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Assistant Professor position in either the non-tenure academic-clinician track or the non-tenure clinician-educator track. Track will be commensurate with experience. Applicants must have an M.D or M.D./Ph.D. degree and have demonstrated excellent qualifications in education, research, and clinical care. While evidence of scholarship is required in the clinician-educator track, research is not required in the academic clinician track. Applicants must be ABIM certified in Internal Medicine and board eligible/certified in Cardiovascular Disease, and Advanced Heart Failure and Transplantation.
Applicants must have at least one year of subspecialty training in heart failure and transplantation (or equivalent). UNOS certification is desirable, but not required. Training in pulmonary hypertension is preferred, but not required. The successful applicant will join a team of cardiologists and CT surgeons in Penn’s nationally recognized heart failure and transplantation program and will attend on the inpatient heart failure and transplantation service at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and practice in the Penn Heart and Vascular Center. He or she will teach and supervise medical students, residents and Cardiology fellows. Preference will be given to applicants with training and a track record of scholarly productivity in clinical or translational research focused in the area of heart failure and transplantation.
