The Philadelphia VA Medical Center (PVAMC) and the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seek candidates for an Associate or Assistant Professor position in either the non-tenure academic-clinician track or the non-tenure clinician-educator track. Track and rank will be commensurate with experience. The successful applicant will have experience in the field of Orthopaedic Surgery with a focus on Spine Surgery. Responsibilities include clinical service at the University of Pennsylvania Health System and its outpatient facilities, 5/8th time at the Veteran's Administration Hospital adjacent to the University, on call responsibilities, resident, fellow and medical student teaching and participation in department & independent sponsored research projects. Applicants must have an M.D. or equivalent degree and have demonstrated excellent qualifications in research, clinical care, and education. While evidence of scholarship is required in the clinician-educator track, research is not required in the academic clinician track. The candidate must be Board Certified and/or Board Eligible.
