Colorectal Surgeon
Posting Department: Surgery
Expire Date: 11/19/2014
The Department of Surgery at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Assistant Professor position in either the non-tenure academic-clinician track or the non-tenure clinician-educator track. Track will be commensurate with experience. The successful applicant will have experience in the field of colon and rectal surgery with a focus on general procedures in that field. Responsibilities include colorectal and general surgical patient care; instruction and supervision of medical students and surgery residents; and--- for candidates for a clinician-educator-track position--- clinical and/or basic science research in topics related to colon and rectal surgery. Applicants must have an M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. or equivalent degree. While evidence of scholarship is required in the clinician-educator track, research is not required in the academic clinician track. They must also be certified by the American Board of Colon and Rectal Surgery or eligible for such certification.

This position will be housed at Pennsylvania Hospital, the nation’s oldest hospital and a fully integrated member of the University of Pennsylvania Health System. Applicants with laparoscopic surgical experience will be preferred.

We seek candidates who embrace and reflect diversity in the broadest sense.

The University of Pennsylvania is an equal opportunity, affirmative action employer.
