The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for a Research Associate position in the Academic Support Staff. This appointment will be initially for one (1) year and continuation during that time period and renewal are based on satisfactory performance and availability of funding (limited to three (3) years). Responsibilities include the use of molecular and cell biological techniques including the production, purification and characterization of recombinant proteins, gene transcription, immunohistochemical and biochemistry techniques, and culturing cell lines and primary neurons. Candidates must have extensive knowledge of neurodegenerative disease including Alzheimer's disease and related dementia as well as amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. Applicants must have an M.D./Ph.D or equivalent degree.
