The Philadelphia VA Medical Center (PVAMC) and the Division of Renal-Electrolyte and Hypertension in the Department of Medicine at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seek candidates for several Assistant or Associate Professor positions in the non-tenure academic-clinician track. Rank will be commensurate with experience. The successful applicant will have experience in the field of clinical nephrology and dialysis, and should be an outstanding educator who will excel at teaching Penn students, residents and fellows. Responsibilities include attending on the renal inpatient consult service, staffing an outpatient dialysis unit, and staffing outpatient clinics at the Philadelphia VA Hospital (75%) and at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania (25%). Applicants will have the opportunity to participate in clinical research; however research is not required. Applicants must have an M.D. or equivalent degree and have demonstrated excellent qualifications in education and clinical care. BC/BE.
Applicants must be a Citizen of the United States. (Non-citizens may be appointed when qualified citizens are not available).
Applicants must have a Doctor of Medicine degree or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine. The degree must have been obtained from one of the schools approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs for the year in which the course of study was completed.
Applicants must have a current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
