The Department of Psychiatry at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Assistant Professor position in the non-tenure research track. The successful applicant will have experience in the field of Alcohol Addiction with a focus on neuroimaging, cue reactivity, inhibition and impulsivity tasks, and experience with adolscent and adult populations. Responsibilities include collaborative and independent research projects, preparing of research protocols and grants and submission of scholarly publications as well as, provide evidence-based treatments for substance use disorders. Applicants must have a Ph.D. or equivalent degree and have demonstrated excellent qualifications in research. APA accredited and PA Clinical Psychology License.
The Brain and Behavioral vulnerabilities laboratory within the Center for the Studies of Addiction, Department of Psychiatry, University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine is expanding their research goals. Our laboratory uses brain imaging and behavioral endpoints including cue reactivity, task and treatment outcome to examine the mechanisms underlying relapse and recovery to several drugs of abuse including cocaine, prescription opiates, heroin, nicotine and marijuana. Thus far, our studies have focused on patients with addiction to one or more of these substances. We are expanding our research goals to include the study of alcohol, co-morbidity with alcohol and other drugs of abuse and longitudinal study in adolescents prior to drug use. The applicant will be expected to maintain a clinical presence in their area of research.
