The Department of Psychiatry at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for a Research Associate position in the Academic Support Staff. This appointment will be initially for one (1) year and continuation during that time period and renewal are based on satisfactory performance and availability of funding (limited to three (3) years). The successful applicant will have experience in the field of Neuroimaging with a focus on advanced integrative behavioral neuroscience methodology. Responsibilities include participation in a multi-disciplinary team of basic and clincal neuroscientists with opportunities to contribute to the study of cognitive and emotion processing in neuropsychiatric disorders. Our preference is for someone with a thorough background in cognitive science, but also with demonstrated expertise in functional and structural neuroimaging methodology. Experience in multi-model integration across sensory and neuroimaging modalities is a major asset. Good communication skills, documentation and managerial skills are required. Secondary responsibilities include: publishing results via project and general workshops, conference, journal publications and working with principal investigators and project managers to develop project plans and timelines. This position will also include training in neuropsychiatric disorders, multimodal high-field neuroimaging and sophisticated statisical analyses. Through active participation in research, this individual will learn to conduct research bridging clinical with basic neurosciences relevent to understanding the neurobiology of neuropsychiatric disorders. Applicants must have an Ph.D. and/or M.D. degree and have demonstrated excellent qualifications in education and research.
