The Department of Pharmacology at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for a Research Associate position in the Academic Support Staff. This appointment will be initially for one (1) year and continuation during that time period and renewal are based on satisfactory performance and availability of funding (limited to three (3) years). The successful applicant will have experience in the field of Cancer Biology, Signal transduction, and Protein Kinases with a focus on Microarray analysis, bioinformatics, analysis of transcriptional networks, production of recombinant viruses and cell lines, and the generation of genetically engineered mouse models.. Responsibilities include Planning and executing experiments on deciphering the role of oncogenic PKC isozymes and its cooperativity with tumor suppressor protein(s) in cell culture and animal models; train and supervise junior researchers in this domain in the lab, perform tumorigenesis studies, prepare manuscripts and apply for grants. Applicants must have a Ph.D. degree and have demonstrated excellent qualifications in research.
