The Department of Pharmacology at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for a Research Associate position in the Academic Support Staff. This appointment will be initially for one (1) year and continuation during that time period and renewal are based on satisfactory performance and availability of funding (limited to three (3) years). The successful applicant will have experience in the field of pharmacology and vascular delivery of anti-thrombotic biologicals with a focus on molecular design of recombinant therapeutics, methods for testing their targeting and effects in cell cultures and animal models, analysis of functional readouts of physiological and pathological parameters of vascular cells and blood components; isotope and optical techniques for analysis of tissue and cellular distribution and pharmacokinetics of drug delivery systems . Responsibilities include Independent design, execution and analysis of research projects, writing reports and publications, successful garnering of competitive extramural funding, management of lab projects, supervision and training of entry level post-docs, students and technicians. Applicants must have a Ph.D. degree and have demonstrated excellent qualifications in research.
Several years of post-doctoral training, first authorship in peer-reviewed journals required.
