The Department of Radiology at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Associate or Assistant Professor position in either the tenure track or the non-tenure clinician-educator track. Track and rank will be commensurate with experience. The successful applicant will have experience in the field of MRI Physics with a focus on Brain Imaging. Responsibilities include development of an independent and/or collaborative research program and participation in multidisciplinary research applying advanced structural and functional MRI in basic, translational, and clinical neuroscience within the Center for Functional Neuroimaging. Applicants must have a Ph.D. or M.D./Ph.D. degree and have demonstrated excellent qualifications in research and education.

The University of Pennsylvania is a leading biomedical research institution and provides an outstanding environment for neuroimaging methods and applications. The Department of Radiology houses Siemens whole-body MRI scanners operating at 1.5, 3, and 7 Tesla as well as Varian horizontal bore animal MRI scanners operating at 4.7 and 9.4 Tesla. The Center for Functional Imaging is supported in part by an NINDS P30 Center Core grant, and consolidates expertise in magnetic resonance and optical neuroimaging on campus to support a broad range of projects.

The successful candidate will have a PhD in MRI physics or engineering and experience in developing and validating novel MRI methods. Experience with arterial spin labeled perfusion MRI is particularly desirable.

Teaching and mentoring of post-docs, research associates and other trainees is required.
