The Department of Surgery at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Assistant or Associate Professor position in either the non-tenure clinician-educator track or the non-tenure academic-clinician track. Track and rank will be commensurate with experience. The successful applicant will have experience in the field of adult cardiac surgery with a focus on coronary artery bypass surgery (including off-pump, robotic, arterial and minimally invasive approaches to coronary artery disease). Responsibilities include clinical care for adult cardiac surgery patients and teaching of medical students and residents; and, for CE-track recruits, pursuit of scholarly research in the field. Applicants must have an M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. or equivalent degree. While evidence of scholarship is required in the clinician-educator track, research is not required in the academic clinician track. They must also be certified by the American Boards of Surgery and Thoracic Surgery or eligible for such certification.
This position will be primarily located at the Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, a fully affiliated member of the University of Pennsylvania Health System.
We seek candidates who embrace and reflect diversity in the broadest sense.
