The Philadelphia VA Medical Center (PVAMC) and the Division of Gastroenterology in the Department of Medicine at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seek candidates for an Assistant, Associate, and/or Full Professor position in either the non-tenure clinician-educator track or the non-tenure academic-clinician track. Track and rank will be commensurate with experience. Responsibilities include a leadership position as Section Chief of Gastroenterology at the Philadelphia Veterans Hospital. Applicants must have demonstrated truly excellent qualifications in Education and Clinical Care and be supportive of research. Applicants must have an M.D or M.D./Ph.D. degree. While evidence of scholarship is required in the clinician-educator track, research is not required in the academic clinician track. Board Certification/Board Eligibility in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology is required. Individuals with administrative experience directing and managing GI endoscopy labs would be highly preferred.

The Philadelphia VA Medical Center offers a teaching-oriented, academic environment with a well-integrated health care system (Penn Medicine).

This is a full-time opportunity at the Philadelphia Veterans Administration Medical Center with an academic appointment at the University of Pennsylvania in the section of Gastroenterology. The successful candidate will serve dual appointments at the Philadelphia VA Medical Center and the University of Pennsylvania. Applicants must be US citizens; however, non-citizens may be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens. Successful candidates must be proficient in spoken and written English.
