The Department of Medicine at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Assistant Professor position in the tenure track. Applicants must have an M.D or M.D./Ph.D. degree and have demonstrated excellent qualifications in research, education, and clinical care. Board Certified/Board Eligible in Internal Medicine is required and the candidates must have completed extensive, formal training in research methods, and have demonstrated exceptional promise for a successful career as a leading, independent investigator via their peer-reviewed publications and grant funding.
The successful candidates will be responsible for building a research program in areas of high relevance for general internal medicine, including but not limited to health services and policy research; comparative effectiveness, health economics, behavioral economics, health psychology, clinical or social epidemiology, medical sociology, and disease prevention. He/she will also provide direct patient care in either the inpatient or outpatient setting, and he/she will have opportunities for participating in the Perelman School's outstanding educational programs at the UME, GME or post-graduate level.
