Pulmonary Critical Care, Academic Clinician

The Philadelphia VA Medical Center (PVAMC) and the Division of Pulmonary, Allergy and Critical Care in the Department of Medicine at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seek candidates for an Assistant Professor position in the non-tenure academic-clinician track. Responsibilities include performing invasive procedures such as fiberoptic bronchoscopies. The incumbent will be an integral member of the Pulmonary, Allergy & Critical Care Division and will be expected to provide coverage as MICU attending, make inpatient consultation rounds at PVAMC, and provide clinical services at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania (HUP) as directed by Chief of Pulmonary Medicine. This position includes teaching activities and mentoring of medical students, medical residents and fellows from the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, as well as curriculum development, clinical pathways for COPD and pneumonia, quality improvement, making schedule, protocol development/writing, didactic sessions for residents or primary care when needed. Applicants must have an M.D. or equivalent degree and have demonstrated excellent qualifications in education and clinical care. Board Certification/board eligibility in Pulmonary and an unrestricted medical license is required.

This position will be a joint appointment between the PVAMC and the University of Pennsylvania Pulmonary, Allergy & Critical Care Division. This is a full-time opportunity consisting of 7/8ths appointment at the Philadelphia VA Medical Center and 1/8th appointment at the University of Pennsylvania.
