The Philadelphia VA Medical Center (PVAMC) and the Division of Pulmonary, Allergy and Critical Care in the Department of Medicine at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seek candidates for a Full, Assistant, and/or Associate Professor position in the non-tenure academic-clinician track. Rank will be commensurate with experience. Applicants must have an M.D. or equivalent degree and have demonstrated excellent qualifications in education and clinical care. Board Certification/Eligibility in Pulmonary Disease and Critical Care Medicine is required, and an unrestricted medical license.

This position will be a joint appointment between the PVAMC and the University of Pennsylvania Pulmonary, Allergy & Critical Care Division. The incumbent will be an integral member of the Pulmonary, Allergy & Critical Care Division and will lead the development of the PVAMC’s program of pulmonary and critical care medicine across clinical care, research and education. Demonstrated experience with the VA’s electronic medical record and VA telehealth services, including clinical video telehealth and e-consultation is required. The Section Chief will provide attending coverage to general medicine and MICU, perform invasive procedures such as fiberoptic bronchoscopy/EBUS and navigational bronchoscopy, make inpatient consultation rounds and provide outpatient clinic care to include telehealth. Experience in sleep medicine is required to supplement the PVAMC’s large sleep medicine program. Clinical services will be at both the PVAMC and Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. The position includes teaching activities and mentoring of medical students, medical residents and fellows from the University of Pennsylvania, as well as curriculum and clinical pathway development.
