PBHMind Symposium - Children & Adolescents with ADHD
"Developmentally & Culturally Effective Psychosocial Interventions for Youth with ADHD"
This 1.5 day symposium will focus on psychosocial interventions for youth with ADHD between the ages of 3 and 18 years. Interventions to improve family, school, and peer functioning will be presented. There will be an explicit focus on the tailoring of interventions to be responsive to youth of varying cultural backgrounds and developmental levels, including children in the preschool, elementary school, and secondary school ranges. In addition, the symposium will address how to integrate psychosocial and pharmacological intervention approaches in the context of a collaborative care framework. Presenters will provide an overview of general principles guiding psychosocial interventions for youth with ADHD, as well as examples and discussion focusing on applying principles to develop interventions in school, peer and home environments.
