This workshop will present an overview of effective lecture planning, organization and presentation. Topics considered will include defining one’s goals and objectives, structuring and delivering one’s lecture to facilitate student engagement and learning, and the effective use of PowerPoint and visuals. While drawing on educational research, the session will be grounded in the insights, experiences and needs of the participants. As such, this workshop is for both new and experience lecturers. Taught by Drs. Carolyn Cambor, Dept. of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, and Ian Petrie, Associate Director, Center for Teaching and Learning.
