This talk will distinguish between physiological responses and psychophysiological measurement. It will discuss the assumptions of psychophysiology and provide a brief history of the use of both physiological and psychophysiological measurement in communication research. Finally, it will provide an overview of the set of psychophysiological measures which have been adapted to and validated for use in the communication laboratory along with their psychological correlates and the limits on their generalizability across media, media uses, and media use environments.
Lunch will be provided
Seating is limited! Please RSVP by Friday, February 24
