An example of the challenges we will discuss:
In the process of executing its programs, Komaza, has built an extensive support network of employees supporting clients over a large geographical area. It is now considering "diversifying horizontally" (i.e. providing other services using this same infrastructure). When should they do this? - before or after scaling up their current programming? How should they pick which services to provide and determine what's operationally viable?
Some see donor compensation as a solution, and a federal court recently agreed. This half-day conference will explore policy, legal, ethical and clinical aspects of the question: Is it time to reconsider payments for transplant donors?
