Project Nur at the University of Pennsylvania is having a SolidariTea event to shine a light on Malaria as a public health issue and discuss the urgent need to eradicate it by the year of 2015. Shine a Light on Malaria (SALOM) campaign was primarily initiated by ONE and FaithsAct. This campaign has extended as far as Sierra Leone where FaithsAct is mobilizing and training faith leaders from diverse religions and backgrounds to work together and educate the public on how to end malaria. At Project Nur, we would like to do the same, we are bringing speakers and people from different backgrounds who are willing to override their differences and have a constructive discussion on how to make this world a better place over tea and food.

3:15 p.m. Documentary screening: “A Killer in the Dark: An Extraordinary Effort to Combat Malaria” A Film provided by the United Methodist Church to shed a light on their work against Malaria.
4:00 p.m. Speaker and discussion led by Dr. Mazhar Rishi Chairman, Department of Pathology, St. Francis Hospital, Wilmington, DE, Vice President, Children Creating Bridges, West Chester, PA and past President of Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR), Philadelphia Chapter.
