SAPA-GP is the largest professional organization of China-heritaged pharmaceutical professionals in the Greater Philadelphia area.

For over ten years, we strive to serve the community of pharmaceutical professionals by promoting advance of pharmaceutical sciences, building scientific and business connections between US and China, and fostering career and personal growth of professional members.

SAPA-GP Annual Conference is the most respected and well attended regional meeting for pharmaceutical professionals who are interested in scientific and business issues related to both US and China bio-pharmaceutical industry. We are particuarlly excited to announce that University of Pennsylvania joined force with SAPA-GP this year as a conference co-organizer. BUILDING RESEARCH BRIDGES AROUND THE WORLD

The Office for Human Research Protections (OHRP), University of Pittsburgh, Carnegie Mellon University, and VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System are co-sponsoring an OHRP Research Community Forum (RCF) entitled, “BUILDING BRIDGES:  Research Around the World,” at the Sheraton Station Square Hotel in Pittsburgh, PA on June 22, 2012. 

This program is quite innovative in the sense that this is the first program in the OHRP RCF series to focus solely on international research.  A group of nationally and internationally-recognized experts will address the regulatory and ethical underpinnings of conducting research with human subjects in international settings.  Our goal is to raise awareness of diverse global interests and to strengthen collaborations between US investigators and those abroad.

The dynamic multi-faceted agenda will provide a Keynote Address, 4 Breakout Sessions, 13 Breakout Sessions, and a Panel Discussion, as follows:

Keynote Address:  Ethical Challenges in Collaborative International Research Presented by Christine Grady, R.N., Ph.D., Chief, Department of Bioethics, National Institutes of Health, Clinical Center; Member of President Obama’s Commission for the Study of Bioethical Issues; and Senior Fellow, Kennedy Institute of Ethics
