“Pathophysiology and treatment of fragile X and related disorders”
On Monday, April 8th there will be a "Rally to save Medical Research" that is being organized by the American Association of Cancer Research (AACR) and will have 80 organizations in attendance. The Rally will be from 11-12:30pm at Mt. Vernon Square in DC. As the Senate is considering a funding bill that will at least partially restore some money for the NIH, there is some hope that the NIH will salvage some funding from the sequester. I think it is important to have a Penn science community presence at this event, especially as next year's budget battles are just around the corner. Penn has signed on as a sponsor of this rally.
Additionally, I have been in contact with staffers for Sen. Toomey, Casey and Rep. Fattah for doing office visits that afternoon. In order to set up office visits, I need to know by Wednesday the number of interested folks that would like to meet with these staffers. We can also coordinate visits with staffers from your home state.
If you would be interested in participating, please let me know. We will be working out transportation and cost details for this one day trip accordingly.
