Wally Miller, an exceptionally gifted radiologist, an inspired teacher and mentor, and a dear colleague of many of us, died at the age of 81 on Sunday, June 23.
His distinguished 50 year career at Penn was recognized by many awards detailed in this obituary,
but we especially remember him as the first recipient of the I.S. Ravdin Award, which recognizes an outstanding clinician at HUP. "Wally had an almost magical ability to construe arcane
diagnoses from minute abnormalities on film, long before anyone else could," said his former trainees and echoed by all who knew him. They have established the Wallace T. Miller, Sr. Scholarship
Fund at the University of Pennsylvania to which donations may be made via http://alumni.med.upenn.edu/annualgiving.php.
