Geoffrey Aguirre, Assistant Professor of Neurology at Penn, will explain "What Lurks behind a Neuro Image". Dr. Aguirre studies the neural basis of normative and recovered high-level visual function. He uses functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI). A complementary project employs behavioral and patient based research. Both projects attempt to characterize normative neural function for vision and how this can be altered through experience and training. Dr. Aguirre will discuss scientific and ethical issues associated with fMRI.
The luncheon is at 12:00 P.M. on Monday, March 16, in the Lenape Room of the University Club.
