ASEF Luncheon, December 9, 2011

Baruch Ben Dor will discuss "Handheld Brain Diagnostic Devices".

Ben Dor received his doctorate in physics at the Technion in 1996 and is now President and CEO of InfraScan, where a small, completely portable scanner has been developed which can detect the presence and location of a brain hematoma based on differential NIR (near-infrared) light absorption of a hematoma and normal brain tissue. It is the first hand-held device of its kind designed to assist first responders and emergency room personnel in identifying life threatening brain hematomas. Ben Dor is also working on a portable device for detection of traumatic brain injuries in battlefields. Head wounds lead to nearly 50% of combat deaths.

The luncheon is at 12:00 noon on Friday, December 9, 2011, in the Lenape Room of the University Club.
