The Neurobiology of Affective Dysfunction in Schizophrenia (AFFECT)

The purpose of this study is to examine neural response facial affect in patients diagnosed with schizophrenia or schizoaffective disorder, as compared to healthy siblings of schizophrenia patients, and to healthy controls from the general population. The study involves a standard clinical assessment (~2-3 hours), a computerized neurocognitive battery (~2 hours), and an fMRI scan (~1.5 hours). These procedures are completed in two to three visits, and total reimbursement for participation is $120. There are no more than minimal risks associated with participation.
